Here are highlights in history for July 28, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1989 — A Tribune article explained the local activity known as cruising, based on teenagers going up and down Broadway in their cars on summer evenings.
1979 — Tribune columnist Maude Koevenig wrote about the mystery of the firefly or lightning bug.
1969 — The Albert Lea City Council approved a rezoning ordinance that would allow Marvin Strolberg and David Hagen to have a mobile home park in the Sondergaard Addition.
