Here are highlights in history for Aug. 25, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1990 — The second annual Midwest Power Boat Association Races were held at Edgewater Park. This event consisted of 10 classes.
1980 — Harvest 80, a festival of Christian entertainment was held at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds. About 3,000 people attended this event.
1960 — A total of 45 students turned out for the first day of practice for the Albert Lea High School football team. The coach was Jim Gustafson.
