1984 — Three people – Barb Butler, Aaron Summers and Bette Berg – were candidates for election to be the next mayor of Albert Lea.

1974 — Bill Hammer and Wayne Grinell defeated Jim Broberg and Dennis Bergstrom in the Albert Lea Tennis Association’s Doubles Tourney.

1964 — Four of the famous Lipizzaner horses were giving classic riding demonstrations at the Freeborn County Fair.
