Don’t forget how much GOP spent

I want to respond to a recent article written by Mr. Al Arends regarding getting our fiscal house in order.
He cites statistics about the low rate of debt under President Reagan. I suppose if you look at it on a year-by-year basis, it was a bit under 10 percent.
However, if you look at the deficit racked up under President Reagan, in two terms, it was greater than all of the presidents before him put together. If my memory serves me right, this was the conservative president who also raised taxes three times.
I agree with his points about being concerned with debt and deficit spending, but where was he when another president, George W. Bush, was putting the cost of wars on our country’s credit card and charging over $1 trillion to our credit card? This is a big part of our current problem in my opinion. Thank You.
