Here are highlights in history for Sept. 6, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1990 — Natural gas service was made available to the residents of Clarks Grove by Interstate Power Co.

1980 — Marilyn Sellars, who gained fame with the song “One Day At a Time,” would be appearing on Sept. 11, 12 and 13 at Albert Lea’s Holiday Inn.

1976 — Terrance Moriarty, former staff member of Fairmont High School, was the new principal of Albert Lea’s Southwest Junior High School.
