Here are highlights in history for Sept.  21, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1987 — Bruce Nissly of Iowa Falls, Iowa, was the new director of the Albert Lea Convention and Visitors Bureau. He replaced Carolyn Kruse.

1977 — Two experimental devices intended to remove particulate phosphorus from Bancroft Creek just didn’t work out, according to a Tribune article.
