Here are highlights in history for Sept. 25, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1984 — Trevor Smeby was crowned king and Jackie Tenny was crowned queen for the Albert Lea High School Homecoming.
1974 — Al Gadbois grew a 55 pound squash and a 45 pound pumpkin on his acreage south of Albert Lea.
1964 — Albert Lea’s first Harvest Festival was created by 33 farm families, groups and business firms. One part of his event was an open air market featuring food items and craft creations.
