The Albert Lea boys’ soccer team’s season came to end Thursday with a 4-0 loss at Rochester Lourdes in the quarterfinals of the Section 1A Tournament.
The top-seeded Lourdes Eagles scored all its goals in the first half and caught the Tigers off-guard, according to assistant coach Joe Squires.
“They were used to the turf field, were really organized and skilled,” Squires said. “In the second half, Albert Lea showed a lot of positives that I look forward to building off of next year.”
The No. 8-seeded Tigers battled injuries all season and finished with a 5-10-1 record and 2-7 in the Big Nine Conference.
This was the second consecutive season the Tigers lost to Lourdes in the section tournament.
