Our beloved Helen died Oct. 12, 2011, at Thorne Crest Retirement Community in Albert Lea, after a short battle with cancer.
Helen was born in Geneva on March 20, 1923, to James and Ellen Larsen.
She married Leonard Krikava and they lived on a farm in Glenville until moving to Albert Lea. They had five children. Leonard died in 1990. Later in her life Helen married Clarence Kreager and they lived in Albert Lea where they enjoyed going to dances at the Eagles Club, attending classic car shows, and walks around the lake. Clarence died in 2010. Helen also enjoyed cooking, baking, writing poetry and traveling to Nevada and California to visit family.
She is preceded in death by Clarence and Leonard and also her three sons, James, Jack and Robert Krikava; grandson Dion Krikiva Alvarez; sisters Leona and Dorothy; brothers James and Howard and her parents.
She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands Pat and Carl Victor Kniesteadt and Karen and Francisco Juarez who live in Reno, Nev. Also, five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters, brothers Alvin and Kenneth Larsen and her special caregiver Shari Lecea.
There will be no funeral. A private inurnment is planned at the Bohemian Cemetery in Glenville.
While Helen is peacefully asleep in Jesus, we look forward to the hope of the resurrection to life when death will be no more as promised by our great God. We appreciate the love and care given by many. “Please live every day of your life.”
