Here are highlights in history for Oct. 10, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1991— Bert Louis Gordon, former resident and owner of Gordon Electric Co., died the previous day in Naples, Fla.
1981 — The Tribune’s “Nature World” column by Maude Koevenig commented about black walnuts and the challenge of husking their outer shells.
1941 — A group of Albert Lea business and professional people held a meeting to organize a local hiking club.
