Here are highlights in history for Oct. 14, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1985 — Kerin Koziolek was queen and Jay Ignaszewski was king for the Homecoming festivities at Freeborn High School.
1975 — Freeborn County was rated as the state’s third largest producer of potatoes. Three photos in this issue of the Tribune were based on scenes of potato harvesting at Petran Farms east of Hayward.
1965 — The name of Albert Lea Savings and Loan Association was changed to First Federal Savings and Loan Association.
