Here are highlights in history for Oct. 31, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1993 — The Thespian Troupe and Tiger Players of Albert Lea High School would be presenting the musical. “42nd Street,” on Nov. 4, 5 and 6.
1983 — Hess Carpet Shop, 1986 W. Main St., was the area’s Mohawk Carpet Color Center, according to their Tribune ad.
1973 — For the first time in 24 years, the name of Manchester Mayor Oscar Jordahl would not be on the ballot for reelection.
