Austin police are searching for a suspect in a weekend stabbing that left one local woman injured.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said 27-year-old Moises Romero Quiles, also known as Romero Quiles Moises, is suspected to have stabbed Tairicca Einfeldt, 20, Saturday night.

Einfeldt was airlifted to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester around 10:30 p.m Saturday. The hospital has not released her condition.

According to Krueger, Einfeldt and Quiles were having some drinks in the 400 block of Eighth Place NW when Einfeldt’s boyfriend, 18-year-old Hans Kitange, showed up. Kitange and Quiles allegedly began physically fighting over Einfeldt, at which point Quiles grabbed a knife from the kitchen and reportedly stabbed Einfeldt in the middle of her lower back.

Kitange fled the scene, according to Krueger, and police were not called until Einfeldt was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin by her mother.

Krueger said Quiles is described as a short, Hispanic man with a Mohawk and shaved sides of his head. He was reportedly wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and black vest the night of the stabbing. He drives a black Cadillac and goes by the name “Mellow.”

If anyone knows the location of Quiles, they should contact local law enforcement officials immediately.
