Logan Hansen was honored on Friday for his off-field performance as a member of the Wartburg College football team.
Hansen was named to the Capital One Academic All-District First-Team, according to the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America.
To qualify, a student-athlete must have a 3.30 cumulative GPA and have played in at least 50 percent of the team’s games. Hansen, a 2008 graduate of Glenville-Emmons High School and an engineering sciences major, has a 3.93 GPA.
“Logan is a model student-athlete,” said Wartburg coach Rick Willis.
This marks the second time Wartburg has had a first-team selection and sixth player to earn Academic All-District honors.
Hansen’s name will be forwarded to the national ballot for potential Academic All-American honors
