Here are highlights in history for Nov. 6, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1992 — A Tribune article featured memories of an ice storm that took place a year earlier. This storm, still associated with Halloween, caused power outages and several million dollars in damages.

1982 — Bernard J. Hein, an architect who helped with the design of Christ Episcopal Church and Southwest and Sibley school buildings, died two days earlier in a Rochester hospital.

1952 — Dr. S.A. Whitson was elected to serve as president of the Albert Lea Chamber of Commerce.
