Here are highlights in history for Nov. 7, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1993 — A photo in this issue of the Tribune clearly indicated the city had three Lions Clubs – Albert Lea, Cloverleaf and Lakeview.

1983 — Albert Lea’s Leo Carey Post 56 of the American Legion purchased new flags for School District 241’s student patrol units.

1943 — A really early blizzard resulted in 10 inches of snow and slush. As a result, highway traffic was disrupted and trains ran behind schedule.
