Here are highlights in history for Nov. 25, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1993 — The Festival of Trees in Forest City, Iowa, would start the day after Thanksgiving. This festival would feature 28 decorated Christmas trees plus several other events.
1983 — The Waseca High School Band was in New York City to participate in Macy’s 56th Thanksgiving Parade.
1973 — Freeborn County Sheriff Holland Laak asked the county commissioners to form a committee to consider action to create regulations regarding water safety on Fountain Lake.
