LYLE — The news footage of an altercation cited by Lyle Public School Superintendent Jim Dusso in his restraining order against Gary Harrison doesn’t show Harrison making threats against Dusso, according to KAAL-TV.

KAAL News Director Mike Schram said Thursday he reviewed the story that included the altercation at the Lyle Public School meeting and at no time did Harrison say “I should drop you,” to Dusso, as stated in the restraining order. Instead, Harrison said “You low-life pieces of crap. I cannot believe you.”

“I’m so grateful,” Harrison said Thursday. “What can I say? The man is lying, simple as that.”

Schram said KAAL reporters who covered the meeting told him the altercation footage used in the story was the incident cited in Dusso’s restraining order. KAAL no longer has the B-roll (additional background footage) of the November meeting.

“The exchange that we captured didn’t say quite exactly what the superintendent had put on (the restraining order),” Schram said.

Harrison said he is fighting the restraining order and has a hearing with Judge Donald Rysavy next Tuesday. He said he hopes the judge will remove the restraining order so he may attend his grandchildren’s upcoming Christmas concert.

“That’s been part of my life for years and years and years,” Harrison said.

Dusso was unavailable for comment. Board chairman Dean Rohne, who was listed as a witness on the restraining order, had no comment.
