ST. CLOUD — A St. Cloud man was taken to the Stearns County Jail after the sport utility vehicle he was driving rear-ended a St. Cloud school district bus.
The 72-year-old man hit the rear of the school bus Friday afternoon while it was stopped on a St. Cloud street with its lights activated.
Nine children were on the bus. The bus driver told police the bus had been stopped long enough that students were preparing to leave through an opened door when the collision happened.
The 72-year-old man and one of the children on the bus were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Police say the man may be charged with drunken driving. The crash remains under investigation.
