Here are highlights in history for Dec. 6, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1992 — A Tribune column by Cy Kruse, District 241 superintendent of schools, commented about the death of teacher Jerald Beckmann.
1982 — The Albert Lea Family Y organized a swim team. Their first competition meet was with a team from the Family Y of Worthington.
1972 — The last link of Interstate 90 between Albert Lea and Boston, Mass., became a reality when the 38-mile portion from St. Charles to the Mississippi River was opened to traffic.
