Authorities are investigating the condition of a 4-month-old baby from Albert Lea after the baby was transported to the hospital Thursday.

According to police, a call came into dispatchers at 3:28 p.m. that the baby was not responsive and having trouble breathing. Reports indicated the baby was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, and an officer gave the baby’s father a ride to the hospital.

At 4:59 p.m., police received a call from authorities at the hospital stating the baby was suffering from a brain bleed.

The child was eventually transported to a Rochester hospital.
