The shorthanded Albert Lea wrestling team went undefeated on Saturday during a quadrangular at Champlin Park High School.

The second-ranked Tigers (16-2), which was without Brody Sundblad, Bany Chan, Triston Westerlund, Trey Hable and Dalton Westerlund, beat New Ulm 68-5, St. Francis 48-26 and White Bear Lake 38-29.

“It was a nice tournament for us,” Tigers coach Larry Goodnature said. “For the whole three duals our lower weights wrestled great.”

Goodnature said the team is “sparce” at certain weight classes and “just trying to survive.”

“We’re happy with where we’re at,” he said. “We just have to get ready for the section team and individual tournaments.”

The Tigers wrestle again at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Rochester Century (1-10).
