Funeral services for Duaine Paul Folie, 47, of Moyoke, N.C., will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Interment will be at East Freeborn Cemetery with military honors accorded by Freeborn County area Veteran’s organizations. Duaine died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at his home.
Duaine Paul Folie was born on Sept. 3, 1964, in Faribault, the son of Paul and Katherine (Vavra) Folie. He grew up in the Albert Lea area and graduated from Albert Lea High School. While he was in school Duaine worked at Good Samaritan Center and Wedge Nursery. In 1982 Duaine enlisted in the United States Navy. After retiring from his military career, Duaine made his home in Moyoke, N.C. He was a member of the American Legion. Duaine loved camping, boating, fishing, motorcycling and woodworking. He enjoyed spending time growing things and doing landscaping at his home. Duaine especially treasured the time he spent with his daughters.
Survivors include his daughters: Sierra and Megan Folie both of Norfolk, Va.; mother, Katherine Folie, of Albert Lea; sister, Marsha (Bruce) Madson, of Ellendale; brother, Steve Folie, of Hartland; nephews: Lukas and Lance Madson, of Ellendale; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Duaine was preceded in death by his father Paul and his grandparents.
