Education Foundation donates

Lilah Aas, president of the Education Foundation of Albert Lea, presents a check for a $500 scholarship to Shalin Hoelscher, class of 2011 of Albert Lea High School. Shalin is attending Bemidji State University in northern Minnesota. She is the first recipient of the Shirley M. (Tennyson) Bartholomew Scholarship. Bartholomew is an ALHS graduate who has established this scholarship to be managed and awarded annually through the Education Foundation of Albert Lea. For this scholarship a graduate must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be a student in good standing after the first semester attending a post-secondary institution.

Lilah Aas, president of the Education Foundation of Albert Lea, presents a notebook of biographies to Pat Mulso, director of the Freeborn County Historical Museum. The notebook contains the biographies of all the Distinguished Alumni honored by the Education Foundation of Albert Lea. The notebook will be shelved in the library of the museum and available for reading there. Two other copies are maintained at the Albert Lea Public Library and the Albert Lea High School library. All biographies are also available on the Education Foundation website at www.efal-us.org.
