Mayo Clinic Health System to unveil new website

Mayo Clinic Health System has revamped its website, and it will be available starting Thursday.
The redesigning of the site, at www.mayoclinichealthsystem.org, is in conjunction with the hospital system’s rebranding that started last May.
“You were introduced to the new Mayo Clinic Health System brand in May 2011 and in January 2012, we are excited to offer the new public face of the system — our redesigned website,” said Mark Koch, chief administrative officer for all of Mayo Clinic Health System.
The hospital said the new website will provide a better experience for users and that health information will be easier to access. From the home page, website visitors will be able to find information about all of the system’s health care providers. This will make it easier for users to choose a hometown provider when they seek primary or specialty care.
“The site helps demonstrate our deep and abiding commitment to collaboration and to providing the best care to every patient every day,” Koch said.
The site also will better showcase Mayo Clinic Health System as a single entity with more than 900 health care providers, 100 specialties and services, and 70 locations throughout Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Each health system city will continue to have its own site pages to showcase local initiatives and services.
The hospital changed its name from Albert Lea Medical Center to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea last May, which administrators said reflected the sharing of resources and education between all Mayo Clinic affiliates.
“When the patient accesses a Mayo site they’ll get the same experience anywhere,” CEO Mark Ciota said last May. “Providers have assets and knowledge available right there.”
Ciota said the long-term goals of Mayo Clinic are to provide high quality care with excellent service while keeping costs at a minimum. He said Mayo Clinic is one of the best health care systems in the world, and he’s eager for the hospital to continue its partnership.
