Carlson propels Buckeyes past Broncos

Alex Carlson, formerly of Albert Lea, scored two late goals on Feb. 11 to lift the No. 15 Ohio State men’s hockey team to a 4-3 victory over No. 18 Western Michigan in Columbus, Ohio.
Carlson lived in Albert Lea through sixth grade, until he was 12 years old, and was in his second year of PeeWee youth hockey when he moved to Farmington. He graduated from Farmington High School in 2006.
With the Buckeyes trailing 3-2, Carlson scored a backhanded goal on a rebound to tie the game at 14:36 in the third period, according to Ohio State’s athletics website.
Carlson scored the gamewinner at 16:31.
Carlson is a junior forward at Ohio State and formerly played for the North Iowa Outlaws in the National American Hockey League.
