Albert Lea Superintendent Mike Funk updated the school board during a closed session Monday evening about the ongoing status of the district investigation involving English teacher and girls’ basketball coach Sean Gillam. The board’s agenda said it would be discussing preliminary consideration of charges against an employee.

Gillam presently is on administrative leave, pending the investigation. He was in his fourth year as the Tigers’ head coach.
