ST. CLOUD — A St. Cloud attorney says she’ll seek the Democratic endorsement to challenge U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann in November.

Anne Nolan launched her campaign Friday. Nolan is an unsuccessful two-time candidate for the state House. She tells the newspaper that the Occupy Wall Street movement inspired her to run for the 6th District congressional seat and that she will emphasize economic issues.

Nolan says she’ll abide by the DFL endorsement at the district DFL convention on April 14. So far, she is the only declared Democratic candidate against Bachmann.

A spokesman says Bachmann welcomes Nolan to the race and that voters will have a clear contrast. In a fundraising email sent Friday, Bachmann’s campaign refers to Nolan as an “Occupy Wall Street candidate.”
