The game between the Albert Lea and Winona baseball teams went into an extra inning on Tuesday in Albert Lea.

A dual between Tigers’ pitcher Dylan See-Rockers and Winhawks pitcher Hunter Gamoke made the game scoreless for seven innings straight.

“Both pitchers were outstanding,” Tigers coach Joe Sczublewski said. “Neither team could get much going with the bats.”

The Winhawks’ one run in the eighth was returned by the Tigers in the bottom of the inning.

With bases loaded Cody Haaland hit a single to center to drive See-Rockers and Fleek to home from second and third for the tie and the win.

“It was a very exciting victory for us,” Sczublewski said. “We thought it’d be a tough game and it certainly was.”

With the 2-1 win, the Tigers are now 5-1 in the Big Nine conference. They are tied with Rochester John Marshall for the lead.
