Chuck and Julie Kjos of Albert Lea announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Kjos, to Mike Clare, son of Scott and Mimi Clare of Eagan.

Grandmother of Katie is Fran Wilcox of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Grandparents of Mike are Dick and Peggy Palen of St. Paul and Al and Joanne Clare of Traverse City, Mich.

Katie is a 2005 Albert Lea High School graduate, a 2009 College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University, and will graduate from Northwestern Health Science University in 2013 as a doctor of chiropractic.

Mike is a 2005 Cretin Derham Hall, St. Paul graduate and a 2009 St. John’s University graduate. He is employed at Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.

An Aug. 17 wedding in Albert Lea is planned.
