Peggy Bennett, of the Albert Lea School District was named one of 111 candidates for the 2012 Minnesota Teacher of the Year. She was also named one of the 34 semi-finalists. Bennett was not on the list of 10 finalists released Monday.

Dave Bosma, a teacher at Alden-Conger School, was one of the 111 candidates but advanced no further. The Minnesota Teacher of the Year will be announced on May 6 at a banquet in Brooklyn Park.
