Katherine Louise Bryson of Valdez, Alaska, and Timothy Allen Burns of Monroeville, Ohio, announce their engagement.

Katherine is the daughter of William and Barbara Bryson of Valdez, Alaska. Grandparents are William and Arlene Bryson of Alden.

Timothy is the son of Pete and Judy Burns.

Katherine is a graduate of Valdez High School and received a degree in elementary education and high school English from Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Wash. She is employed as a fourth-grade teacher at Anthony Andrews K-12 School in Saint Michael, Alaska.

Timothy is a graduate of Monroeville High School. He served four and a half years in the Air Force and was stationed in Japan, Saudi Arabia and March AFB, Calif. He has an undergraduate degree in vocational education and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Wright State University. He is employed as assistant principal at Anthony Andrews K-12 School in Saint Michael, Alaska.

A wedding is planned for 5 p.m. June 30 at the bride’s family cabin in northern Minnesota.
