The Albert Lea baseball team had a rough night against Rochester Century on Thursday losing 4-0. The first time the teams faced each other this season was in April, and the Tigers came out victorious 12-10.
Tigers coach Joe Sczublewski said his team had their hands full with the Panthers’ pitcher Mitch Brown.
“He’s a power pitcher,” Sczublewski said. “He struck out 14 and has a very good fastball.”
Sczublewski said there were more than 20 professional scouts at the game watching Brown.
On the speed gun, Brown’s pitchers were around 94 mph.
“He’ll be a high professional draft pick,” Sczublewski said.
As it stands, the Tigers are 10-8 overall and Century is 12-5.
Albert Lea will play a non-section, non-conference game tonight in New Richland at 6:30 p.m.
Their final section and conference game will be in Winona on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
