The Albert Lea High School Hall of Fame banquet will be July 7 at Wedgewood Cove Golf Club.
This year the Hall of Fame is inducting eight ALHS graduates.
The first inductee will be Bobby Dolan.
Dolan graduated in 1949 and was a multi-sport athlete. He participated in football, basketball, baseball, boxing and track.
During his high school career Dolan lettered in sports 13 times.
After high school Dolan attended St. Thomas University to play football and baseball.
Dolan cut his college career short when he signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played with the Dodgers for nine years and reached the AAA playing status.
In 1989, Bobby died at the age of 58 from ataxia, a disease of the central nervous system.
The ALHS Hall of Fame began in 2010 to recognize individuals who have made historical contributions to the ALHS athletic programs.
The money raised through Hall of Fame events is given to the ALHS sports programs to lower student participation fees.
Since it began, the Hall of Fame has donated a total of $14,000.
The July 7 event will consist of a four-person best shot golf tournament with a silent auction and meal to follow. The tournament is $75 per person and the banquet is $40 per person.
The banquet speaker will be Eric Nyquist, a 1990 graduate of ALHS who is currently working for NASCAR. Nyquist has also worked for the Chicago White Sox and also the National Football League.
