Amanda Bergland, daughter of Brent and Linda Berland, will be attending University of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D., majoring in healthcare administration. She has been volunteering at local nursing homes, the museum, cancer society, plus her school activities. She also has been very active in her church and was nominated as Freeborn County Volunteer of the Year when she was 15.

Matthew Buhr, son of Gene and Cynthia Buhr, will be attending University of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D., majoring in biological sciences and pre-medical. He graduated summa cum laude. He has been active in local service work, Boy Scouts, plus working in his church.

Church Women United is made up of women from various local churches who meet four times a year with a Christian theme. A salad luncheon is held each year in May and personal donations are also given to fund these scholarships.
