State Farm representative Nancy VanderWaerdt presents a check for $500 to Lilah Aas, president of the Education Foundation of Albert Lea. VanderWaerdt submitted a "Good Neighbor" grant to the State Farm Companies Foundation on behalf of the Education Foundation, of which she is a board member. Since State Farm is a strong proponent of education of our children and youth, knowing that they are the key to the future of our country, VanderWaerdt said it was a natural choice for State Farm to support the work of the Education Foundation. Funds will be used to support The Teacher Grant Program, which directly impacts district teachers and their students in special projects. The Foundation annually offers up to ten $500 grants to teachers in the Albert Lea School District. -- Submitted
