Two arrested for drug possession

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Shay Mackinzie Hogan and John Michael Grant for fifth-degree possession of marijuana after a traffic stop at 10:40 a.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 69 near Emmons. According to reports, Hogan was also cited for open bottle violations and speeding, and Grant was cited for giving false information to an officer.
Windows broken
Windows were reported smashed out of a Union Pacific Railroad vehicle at 8:28 a.m. Thursday at 505 E. William St., according to police.
Juvenile cited for drug paraphernalia
Police cited one juvenile for drug paraphernalia after receiving a report that the juvenile was smoking at the bus stop near the intersection of West Front Street and First Avenue at 7:36 a.m. Thursday, according to police.
Lights taken, broken
Solar lights were reported taken and broken in the roadway near 1009 James Ave. at 11:36 p.m. Thursday, police stated.
Ring missing
A ring was reported missing from a house, 217 Ridge Road, at 12:05 p.m. Thursday, according to police.
