The United Methodist Women met May 9 with a “Remembrance and Roses” service presented by members of May-Grace Circle. Those remembered were Mildred Gurwell, Luella Hagmann, Vi Wangen, Cora Peterson, Perky Smith, Delores Stanley and Margaret Myers. Participating in the program was Judy Kary, Les Nolting and Norieta Rippentrop.

President Marty Beckmann opened the meeting followed by JoAnn Seuser giving the secretary’s report and Ruth Vermedahl, the treasurer’s report. Adean Turner, spiritual growth chairwoman, and Judy Kary, education and interpretation chairwoman, gave readings.

Marcelle Erntson requested assistance serving dessert on May 20. She also reported on the Southern Prairie District meeting on April 20.

Judy Hargrave told of the annual Emma Norton benefit dinner attended by Ruth Vermedahl, Toby Thompson and Hargrave.

Special thanks was given to Harriet Kallemeyn for her help with the Trunk and Quilt Show. And to Hargrave, Eileen Larson, Sharon Nelson and Rose Hood, for their help with display of the quilts. The committee reported a successful show.

Merle Stensrud presented a musical selection, and lunch was served by Martha Circle.

The next meeting was scheduled for June 6, with coffee at 9:30 a.m. and the program and meeting at 10 a.m.
