Ross Dahl, a 1976 graduate of Albert Lea High School and a three-sport athlete, will be inducted into the Albert Lea High School Hall of Fame on Saturday at Wedgewood Cove Golf Club.
Dahl is known for his performance on the hockey team. He was a three-year starter for the Tigers and set an all-time career scoring record.
He one time scored a hat trick against the No. 1 team in the state, Bloomington Lincoln.
Dahl was named to the First Team Big Nine Conference and was also named honorable mention all-state.
Dahl also played as the Tigers’ defensive back on the football team and was a member of the baseball team.
He continued his hockey career at Northern Michigan University and transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
While in Wisconsin Dahl had the opportunity to play on the same team as his younger brother, Todd.
The team with the two brothers finished second in the Division III hockey championships in 1981.
Dahl will join seven others at the Saturday event.
The meal and ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Prior to the induction there will be a four-person best shot golf tournament at 10:30 a.m. and a silent auction beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The guest speaker of the evening will be Eric Nyquist, a 1990 graduate of ALHS.
All proceeds from the Hall of Fame are donated to ALHS to reduce participation fees for high school athletes.
