The first ever Virginia Hanson Memorial golf outing will be held at Green Lea Golf Course on Aug. 9.

The event will be a four woman best shot contest.

The cost is $140 per team and golf carts will be available for an extra fee.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and there is a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

The fee includes a round of golf, lunch and prizes.

An account has been set up at the State Bank of Clarks Grove for memorial donations.

In Hanson’s honor, a tree will be purchased and dedicated the day of the event.
