Dear streetscape architects: In my opinion you can dump the bumpouts in downtown Albert Lea. That’s the dumbest idea this city does NOT need! People have a hard enough time negotiating traffic downtown not to mention when our snow-removal crews pile snow down the middle of Broadway. Who’s gonna clean the snow off the bumpouts? Any revenue for such projects would be better spent on fixing the Edgewater Cottage or getting owners to improve the appearance of existing downtown structures to attract new business. City employees have enough to maintain without adding more “bumps”!
