Norman should have just lost job

My first comment would be to Brenda Miller of Waseca. I have never said I support what Mr. Jim Norman did. What he did should probably have caused him to be let go from his position, but the waste of taxpayer dollars for such a small amount was ridiculus.

As for the reason Ms. Rhonda Moen was able to use to credit card, I have heard this before, and the problem is I haven’t heard it out of the mouths of the people who should be saying something, the mayor and City Council. This is what I’ve been waiting for, but for some reason no one wanted to stand up and say it.

The city government needs to look at the way they’ve handled this whole mess and start thinking about how to handle the next mess that comes around, because I am positive that something else will come up, and they will be questioned about something that’s done in the future. I cannot believe that they still say they weren’t responsible for charges being sought. Someone at the city had to have asked for an investigation. If they hadn’t brought it up to Waseca County, then Miller wouldn’t have had anything to prosecute.

This could have been resolved in-house by letting Mr. Norman go. A prosecution like this should have been reserved for the situation in another article where a mayor and city clerk in Scarville reportedly misappropriated money, and the amount is over $37,000. We wasted tax money for such a small amount, $2,300.

The city leaders have to take responsibility where it falls, and it has fallen on them. You could have settled this a long time ago, but you circled the wagons and now have people suspicious of everything you do. Congratulations for a job well done!
