St. John’s Auxiliary met at 2 p.m. July 16, in St. John’s Chapel. President Carol Rask welcomed everyone and gave devotions. Becky Nordland on piano led the group in singing “My Country Tis of Thee,” “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee” and “The Birthday Song.”
The secretary and treasurer reports were read and approved.
Diane Wichmann, activities director, reported 941 volunteer hours for June, 54 day care, three you and me clubs and three sing-alongs. She announced the coming activities for August: Senior Day at the Freeborn County Fair is Wednesday, Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — they are getting projects ready to take to the fair; Relay for Life bags on Aug. 10 at 10:30 a.m.; St. John’s 50th Anniversary Party for staff on Aug. 15 from 1 to 4 p.m.; party for residents and families on Aug. 19 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will be open to the community from 1 to 2:30 p.m.; Pelican Breeze on Aug. 28 at 1 and 2 p.m. Birthdays for July were read by Wichmann.
People thanked for serving Sunday Coffee were the auxiliary special serving committee, the auxiliary board, Concordia Pickerel Lake Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church.
The program was provided by Christ Episcopal. Gail Thurnau played classical music greatest hits on the piano.
Refreshments were provided by Karen Niehuis and St. John’s Dietary Department.
The meeting was closed with the Lord’s Prayer.
