BLAINE — The driver of an SUV was killed early Friday after crashing his vehicle into a house in Blaine.

Police say they got a call shortly before 3 a.m. about a suspicious vehicle. When officers encountered the SUV, the driver took off. By the time police caught up the driver had already crashed into the house. The medical examiner says the 31-year-old driver, Matthew J. Gray, of Blaine, died at the scene.

Two people in the home escaped through a window and were not hurt. Police say the SUV struck a gas main causing a leak that was quickly contained.
