EDEN PRAIRIE — Former Minnesota linebacker Matt Blair will be the next member of the Vikings Ring of Honor.
The team announced Monday that Blair will be inducted at halftime of the Oct. 25 game against Tampa Bay.
Blair was a second-round draft pick in 1974 out of Iowa State. He started 130 of his 160 career games for the Vikings and ranks second in franchise history with a recorded 1,452 tackles. Blair also holds the Vikings career record with 20 blocked kicks, and his 23 sacks and 16 interceptions are both the most all-time by a Vikings linebacker. He went to six straight Pro Bowls and was an All-Pro pick in 1980.
Blair will be the 20th former employee, player, coach or executive in the Vikings Ring of Honor.
