Grizzlies to host All-Star game

The 2012 Southern Prairie Football League All-Star game will be hosted by the Albert Lea Grizzlies on Saturday at Hammer Field.
According to Craig Schmidt, the president of the Grizzlies, the game is hosted by a different team each year and this year is the Grizzlies turn, and a chance to play on a real football field, instead of at Southwest Middle School.
The game kicks off at 2 p.m. and tickets from the football game are eligible for a $4 discount for the Freeborn County Fair.
They are redeemable at the shuttle at Hammer Field.
The Grizzlies players that will be playing on the team include: Levi Fossen, Steven Salinas, Mikey Salinas, Trevor Haugh, Paul Ciochetto, Matt Mirowski, Spencer Niebuhr, George Jerdes, Jason Kuipers and Kaelyn Kohtz.
Schmidt said the teams will be the blue team and the white team.
On the blue team will be the Hogs, Wildcats and Outlaws and on the white team will be the Bucks, Grizzlies, Silverbacks and the Shock.
The game is $6 and kids under 10 are free.
