Houses broken into in A.L.

A house at 212 N. First Ave. was reported broken into at 1:57 a.m. today. Items were missing, according to police.

A house was reported broken into at 507 E. Fourth St. at 9:31 p.m. Sunday, according to police.

A door was reported broken at 711 Madison Ave. at 10:54 p.m. Monday, according to police.

 

Grass fire reported

A grass fire was reported at 70678 154th St., Albert Lea, at 6:39 p.m. Monday, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office. Reports indicate the fire began as someone was bailing hay. No other information was available about the fire as of press time.

 

4 cited for underage drinking

Police cited four young adults early Monday morning for underage drinking after receiving a noise complaint at 1710 Plainview Lane. According to police, those cited were Megan Sharlene Solland, 18, Timothy James Francis, 18, Brady Lloyd Koller, 20, and Dylan Arthur Hanson, 18.

 

House damaged

Damage was reported to property at 705 Madison Ave. at 11:05 p.m. Monday, according to police.

 

2 arrested for assault

Police arrested Jeremy Ryan Young, 19, for domestic assault at 1708 Eberhart St. at 1:43 a.m. today.

Police cited Andrew Scott Adams, 24, for domestic assault after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance at 709 Water St. at 7:09 p.m. Saturday, police reports stated.

 

Cooler stolen

A cooler was reported stolen from the back of a car at 141 First Ave. NW in Glenville.

Air conditioners stolen

Two window air conditioners and a battery charger were reported missing at 2405 Gene Ave. at 1:35 a.m. Sunday, police stated.

 

TOPS chapter starting

A new TOPS chapter starting in Albert Lea will hold its first meeting from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 4 at Trinity Lutheran Church’s Fireside room. TOPS is a weekly weight loss support group meeting that consists of a weigh-in and an educational program and lots of ideas, support and encouragement for living healthier.

Katherine Street reconstruction begins

Due to reconstruction of Katherine Street, the intersection at Main Street and Katherine Street will be closed. The city is detouring west bound traffic at Garfield Avenue, along Front Street and Broadway Avenue and then back to Main Street. Eastbound traffic will be unaffected. The detour is expected to last two weeks. Shoppers may still access Fountain Warehouse Liquor, Walgreens and McDonald’s on Katherine Street from Bridge Avenue.
