Memorial services for Glorian “Toots” Jean Kennedy of Dexter, formerly of Albert Lea, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albert Lea.
Glorian died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin. She was 85.
“Toots” was born Oct. 21, 1926, in Thompson, Iowa, one of nine children of Joseph and Madeline (Anderson) Flo. She grew up in the Bricelyn-Kiester area and graduated from Kiester High School. She lived in Albert Lea for many years. In her earlier years she was the Doughnut Girl at Boyd and Jack’s, and she later had a board and care in her home for several years.
She retired and lived in Albert Lea until moving to Dexter to be near family about five years ago. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
“Toots” enjoyed fishing and camping. Family was the priority for her and she enjoyed sharing her life with her siblings, children and grandchildren. Her siblings and family cruise to Hawaii was one of many trips traveling with and visiting family that left many happy memories.
She is survived by her children: Wesley Jellinger of Dexter, Jeannie Grubbe of Sun City, Ariz., Kristie (Pat) Steffanni of Norwalk, Ohio, and Loreen Pfeifer of Dexter; grandchildren: Danny, Brian, Michael, Megan, Dane, Alex, Spencer and Calder; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters: Lorna Anderson of Albert Lea, JoAnn (Harry) Green of Albert Lea, Donna Arneson of Scottsdale, Ariz., brother Dale (Barbara) Flo of LeSueur; sister-in-law Mavis Flo of Apple Valley; several nieces and nephews and best friend Gladys Rowe of Albert Lea.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Loren Brice, grandsons Kyle and Ryan and brothers: Lester, Arlo, Ronald and Marlin Flo.
“Toots” was an awesome caretaker and will be fondly remembered for her warm generosity.
