In light of the recent news coverage regarding Harmony Park and many misconceptions that are floating around, I thought this would be a good time to clarify a few things about Harmony Park.

Harmony Park, like the Freeborn County Fairgrounds or any special event center, acts as a venue for varied social events. Harmony Park is leased or rented for a wide variety of uses including: weddings, charity events, family gatherings, reunions, birthday parties, educational workshops, company picnics, as well as music events.

Like the county fairgrounds, Harmony Park does not advocate or condone any illegal activity. A special event venue is not responsible for the actions of every ticket holder just as the county fairgrounds isn’t responsible for the individual actions of each and every fair-goer.

Harmony Park hires outside professional, licensed and bonded security companies, as well as Freeborn County law enforcement, for all large events, to ensure the safety of ticket holders and to uphold local, state and federal laws.

As a lifelong resident of Freeborn County, I refuse to let the actions of a few people jeopardize what I have worked so hard to build.

Harmony Park is built on the vision of a community resource, a peaceful, beautiful and safe place for families to enjoy camping, gatherings, workshops and education.
