A.L. man arrested for stabbing

An Albert Lea man has been arrested and charged in connection to the stabbing of another man on Wednesday.
Albert Lea police arrested Hiram Abel Rodriguez-Reyes, 27, at 11:20 p.m. Thursday at a home in the city without incident, according to a news release.
Rodriguez-Reyes had fled the scene of the alleged stabbing at 1204 S. Newton Ave. on Wednesday.
He faces charges of first-degree assault, second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon involving substantial injury, according to Albert Lea police.
The victim, 25, whose name has not been released, was reportedly stabbed in the abdomen and underwent surgery. The victim was listed in stable condition Wednesday evening with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Authorities were alerted to the stabbing after the victim came into the emergency room at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea after being transported there by a private vehicle. The circumstances that might have led to the assault have not yet been released.
